What is the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)?

The NDIS was launched in 2013 as a world leading government initiative to support the needs of people with disability, their families and their carers. Australians who are part of the scheme are referred to as participants and can access supports including care, financial and medical supports to enable the participants to live a largely independent life.

Part of the NDIS framework supports Australians with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. This section of the NDIS framework is called Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) and is designed to accommodate and financially support participants living in purpose-built accessible accommodation to suit their individual needs.

It is anticipated that approximately 34,000 Australians will be able to access this Specialist Disability Accommodation funding which provides a holistic whole-of-life approach to supporting the participants individual needs and promotes independence, choice and control, the three pillars of the NDIS.
NDIS Loans is different to normal residential loans, the mainstream lenders are not interested in funding them at the moment as they consider them too specialised. We work with credible non-bank lenders who understand NDIS Loans and can fund them at residential rates.
